Accurate and inexpensive way to set ski boot sole canting angles in ski boots.
Easy way to make sure your canting is spot on every time. Kit includes 2 interchangeable planer plates (1 degree and ½ degree) and rail system that fits onto any 6 1/8 inch joiner/planer or bigger (Craftsman, Delta, Robi)
Some planer modification is necessary. Drilling and tapping 6 holes is required to mount the side mounting rails on the in-feed table. all tools need are included.
Degree plates slide in and out of the mounting rails and are reversible so you can run the boot which ever way you like (front to back or back to front). Using the plates and multiple passes you can achieve any angle you need.
For example if you want to cant a boot 1 ½ degree to the inside: you simple slide the 1 degree plate in the rails, set the in-feed table cut depth to be at the end of the low side of the plate and run the boot in the canted grove. Remove the 1 degree plate and insert the ½ degree plate watch that you insert it with low side the same orientation as the last plate, reset cutting depth and run the boot. There you have it 1 ½ degree cant on the sole of the boot. Now all you need to do is add lifters and re-cut the DIN height on the toes and heels.
